The Institute of European Policy Studies of the Academy of Sciences and the Latvian Institute of Productivity, Efficiency, Development and Competitiveness “University of Latvia LV PEAK” sign a declaration on cooperation in the field of analysis of Latvian productivity and competitiveness.
On the 14th of 2020 – Academy of Sciences (LAS) Institute for European Policy Studies (EPPI) and University of Latvia (UL) Faculty of Business, Management and Economics (BVEF), Latvian Institute of Productivity, Efficiency, Development and Competitiveness LV PEAK, the University of Latvia think tank, signed a declaration on co-operation in Latvia productivity and competitiveness analysis. The Declaration of Cooperation was signed during the LAS Bureau meeting. Declaration by LAS was signed by the President Ojārs Spārītis and LAS EPRI actong director Zane Zeibote, but from the UL side Professor Gundars Bērziņš, Dean of BVEF and Director of the LV PEAK professor Inna Steinbuka. Signing of the declaration provides a basis for further cooperation to promote productivity, competitiveness and analysis-based economic policy-making; the link between the academic and scientific environment in the field of productivity and competitiveness analysis. It is important that Latvia ‘s planned productivity and competitiveness enhancing measures and reforms would be thoroughly debated and based on a balanced independent analysis. The Declaration of Cooperation provide an opportunity to force exchange of information on planned activities and current events on productivity and in the field of competitiveness analysis; joint organization of an annual conference; and LAS EPRI participation in policy formulation, discussion and discussion of productivity reports and recommendations.
